Oklahoma senator Joseph Silk, R-Broken Bow, believes our state gun laws are way too strict and has introduced a bill to help out us common folk. Apparently the senator has moved such minor problems as teen pregnancy, texting while driving, and prison overcrowding to the back burner. The thing that has old Joe so hot and bothered is that he can’t have a gun in his trunk while on school grounds. To quote Joe,
“If a parent wants to meet with a teacher or goes to a school board meeting after returning from hunting, they could leave their rifle or shotguns in their locked car on school property.”
I don’t know about you, but I can’t tell you how many times that has been a problem for me and my family. “Honey, I sure hate to miss that there school board meeting, but we still got that dead deer back there in the bed of the pickup, and then there’s those guns. I wish somebody would make a law.”
“We are trying to get freedom back to the people,” Joe said.
